The Statistic And Analysis Of Atmospheric Ducts Worldwide Using Radiosonde Data

This study analyzed atmospheric ducts occurrence using radiosonde data obtained from 2005 to 2014 worldwide. The results show that the probabilities of ducting occurrence vary in different regions all over the world. The average year occurrences of surface ducts decrease gradually with the increase of latitude. And, comparisons of the duct distribution between the land and sea show that, the occurrence rate of marine is higher than that of land. At last, a comparison between ducting occurrences obtained from Rec. ITU-R P.453-11 and this statistics has been made in this contribution.
