024 The Effect of Botulinum Toxin on Penile Vascular Parameters and Clinical Outcome in Patients With Severe Ed: A Pilot Study

摘要
To evaluate the safety and efficacy of Botulinum toxin in the treatment of severe erectile dysfunction (ED), not responding to PDE5i or Intra-cavernosal injection therapy (ICI). A prospective, single blind, randomized study of 24 patients with ED, not responding to PDE5i or ICI therapy. Patients were randomized into 2 groups; treatment and control with 12 patients in each group. The treatment group received a single intra-cavernosal injection of 50 units of Botulinum toxin (BTX) A. The control group received an intra-cavernosal injection of 1 ml of saline 0.9%. Assessment for both groups was done by penile colour Doppler study and the erection hardness score (EHS); at baseline and 2 weeks after treatment respectively; in addition to the Sexual Health Inventory for men (SHIM) questionnaire and the Sexual Encounter Profile questions 1 and 2 (SEP 2 & SEP 3) at baseline and 4 weeks after treatment respectively.
