CRISPR/Cas9 Tumor Targeting Technology

With recent development in gene editing technology, CRISPR/Cas9 has been used as a new gene targeting modification technology which can be applied to disrupt target genes. This technology has currently been successfully used in human cells, mice and zebrafish to generate stable gene knockout cell lines and animal models. The type II CRISPR/Cas9 technology has potent gene editing efficiency and simple operation which helps quickly when applied in the editing of various cancer-related genes. Numerous literatures have recently reported that the CRISPR/Cas9 system can disrupt some anti-oncogenes to accelerate tumor formation or disrupt oncogenes in suppressing tumor formation. This review thus discusses the CRISPR/Cas9 tumor targeting system.
