Charge and Output Power Characteristics Analysis of Mobile X-ray Device by Using Ultra Capacitor

Medical X-ray devices are widely utilized as non-invasive diagnostic devices, in which the X-ray penetrates the human or animal body to build an image of the internal body according to the intensity. To improve the energy efficiency in X-ray generation and dose control, an X-ray tube was developed to have a cathode with a filament mounted on it, far advancing the area. Recently, mobile X-ray devices have been increasingly used to diagnose patients with mobility difficulties or in emergency situations. The aim of this study is to develop a mobile X-ray device capable of producing high-powered X-rays. An ultra capacitor was applied and its charge and output characteristics were analyzed. As a result, a constant-voltage charge was found at DC 460 V charging voltage; thus, achieving fast charging. The output was characterized as having an even tube voltage, tube current, and exposure rate during the investigation period.
