A Novel Method Applying Anchored Clip During Oro-Pharyngeal Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection

Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has been widely accepted as a standard treatment for early gastrointestinal tract cancers. However, ESD in the oro-pharyngeal region is still not well developed because of the poor maneuverability the devices and the distinctive anatomical features. On the other hand, benefit of using clip with surgical thread during ESD in the esophagus and stomach has been recognized recently. This is the first report of pilot study applying surgical thread knotted to endoscopic hemoclip as a traction device during ESD in the oro-pharyngeal region.
