Monolithic reactor for VOCs abatement: Influence of non-uniformity in the coating

•Adiabatic monolith behaviour with a non-uniform catalytic distribution is studied.•Non-uniform coating causes drop of the effectiveness factors of VOC oxidation reactions.•Deterioration of the reactor performance is magnified as the feed concentration increases.•Light-off curves are strongly affected by the value of the curvature radius.
