摘要
Methods for improving the detection of concealed electronics, such as those used in improvised explosive devices (IEDs), are of continuing interest. In this regard, the harmonic radar, which utilises the non-linear junction (NLJ) effect, offers the potential of useful stand-off ranges with a high probability of detection and low false alarm rate. This paper explains the principles of harmonic radar technology, describes a particular radar system design and configuration, and presents preliminary results from a recent experimental trial on the influence of polarisation on detection.
