Su1312 Cost Effectiveness and Clinical Efficacy of Lumen Apposing Covered Self-Expanding Metal vs Plastic Stents for the Treatment of Walled off Pancreatic Necrosis

Both plastic and self-expanding metal stents are available for use in the endoscopic treatment of walled off-pancreatic necrosis (WOPN), including a new generation of metal stents termed Lumen Apposing Covered Self-Expanding Metal (LACSEM) stents. Growing experience suggests LACSEMs are both safe and effective for the treatment of WOPN; however, the upfront cost of the device is greater than plastic alternatives. The aim of our study was to compare the cost effectiveness and clinical efficacy of LACSEM vs. standard plastic stents for the endoscopic management of WOPN.
