Impact of oil and proteins derived from Antarctic krill on atherosclerosis development in apoEKO mice

Objectives: Antarctic krill is a good source of n-3 PUFAs and high-quality proteins. While krill components have been shown to reduce plasma lipid levels in rodent and human studies, the effect on atherosclerosis development has not yet been studied. Aim of this study was to investigate the effect of krill proteins, krill oil, or their combination on atherosclerosis progression.
