Geoid height determination by artificial neural networks and collocation

Geoid heights are needed to determine orthometric heights from Global Positioning System (GPS) observations. There are several methods for geoid height determination. A hybrid method employing artificial neural network (ANN) approximation and the least squares collocation is presented. The ANN approximation is used as a trend surface in the least squares collocation. Numerical results confirm the efficiency of presented method.
