The stability of a boiling coolant in the process channels of RBMK reactors : Statement of the problem and its solution using the code ATHLET

On the basis of a series of experiments conducted at ENITs for studying the stability of flow of a boiling coolant in parallel heated channels, the problem of verification of the systems code ATHLET was formulated and solved. The initial data and the statement of the problem are presented, is are preliminary calculations, a comparison of their results with experimental data, and final calculations. Moreover, an analysis of the sensitivity and a quantitative appraisal of the capability of the code to cope with real processes in the experimental installation are presented.
