Integrating digital pen devices with traditional medical screening tool for cognitive assessment

The clock drawing test (CDT) pro-vides a user-friendly visual representation of cognitive functioning and is rapid and easily administrated. We develop the automatic clock drawing test system that combines the traditional medical knowledge with the digital pen devices. Besides the nor-mal features, our system can collect the 3D orientation information from the digital pen. We also provide detailed solution for complexity in recognition and measurable metrics for scoring. We test the accuracy of our scoring system using 40 samples. And the accuracy for clock face, digits and hands are respectively 0.8, 0.73 and 0.8.
