Observer-based fault detection and accommodation for nonlinear time-delay systems with a prescribed performance mechanism

•A new observer-based fault detection and accommodation control scheme is proposed.•The system states are considered to be unmeasurable.•The bounds of model uncertainties and disturbances only exist but are unknown.•The prescribed performance bound(PPB) is firstly used as the detection threshold.•The state estimate error is guaranteed within PPB regardless of faults.
