Re-analysis of previous laboratory phase curves: 2. Connections between opposition effect morphology and spectral features of stony meteorites

•We analyze the opposition phase curves and the spectra of 17 stony meteorites.•We derive the morphological parameters of the opposition surge and the spectral slopes.•We found a correlation between the surge amplitude and the red spectral slope.•The trends found could be due the microstructure, the composition, and the size distribution.
