•Fluorinated microfluidic biochips were developed from perfluoropolyethers (PFPEs).•All devices showed a good patterns and efficient sealing.•Adhesion and growth of cells in PFPEs biochips were similar to PDMS biochips.•Cells metabolism was maintained during culture in dynamic biochips.
