Stimulation of nuclear receptor REV-ERBs suppresses production of pronociceptive molecules in cultured spinal astrocytes and ameliorates mechanical hypersensitivity of inflammatory and neuropathic pain of mice

•REV-ERB agonist SR9009 prevented upregulation of pronociceptive molecules in spinal astrocytes.•Intrathecal treatment with SR9009 prevented LPS-induced mechanical hypersensitivity.•Intrathecal SR9009 treatment prevented LPS-induced GFAP expression in spinal cord.•Activation of spinal REV-ERBs ameliorated inflammatory and neuropathic pain.•Activation of spinal astrocytic REV-ERBs is crucial in antinociception.
