Response letter: Galectin-9: friend or foe for systemic lupus erythematosus? Comment on the article by Zeggar et al.

We greatly appreciate Drs. Wang-Dong Xu, Lin-Chong Su, and An-Fang Huang for their interests to our work reporting the beneficial effects of the deficiency of Lgals9 in pristine-induced lupus model of BALB/c mice. They have questions on the discrepancy of results among ours and previously published publications, reporting the protective effects of the administration of recombinant galectin-9 into MRL/lpr lupus-prone mice and BXSB/MpJ and NZB/W F1 mice(3).
