The impact of reduction of testing at a Preoperative Evaluation Clinic for elective cases: Value added without adverse outcomes.

•Protocol changes were adopted to try to reduce unnecessary preoperative testing•There was an overall downward trend in all preoperative tests and labs•There was no significant increase in day of surgery testing or case cancellations•There was no significant increase in the number of testing on DOS, except the DOS testing for BMPs.•The approach that was cost-effective which may lead to the reduction of health care cost.
