A Joint Resource Allocation Algorithm For Mmwave Device-To-Device Networks With Heterogeneous Antenna Arrays

Nowadays, the combination of millimeter wave (mmWave) technology and device-to-device (D2D) communication becomes more widespread. Due to the variety of devices, the antenna arrays are always heterogeneous and the system interference is more complicated. In this paper, we first analyze the existing antenna pattern and find out the effects of different models in a device-intensive scenario. Then, we construct an interference graph and design related properties to describe the interference state of the system. In order to improve the system throughput considering heterogeneity, we propose a timeslot and transmit angle joint resource allocation (TAJRA) scheme that can effectively lead to a near-optimal solution. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively improve system performance, and the effect of the algorithm is related to the mixing ratio of heterogeneous antennas.
