Investigation and prediction of retention characteristics of imidazoline and serotonin receptor ligands and their related compounds on mixed-mode stationary phase.

•Retention behavior of 43 compounds is investigated on mixed-mode HILIC/RP stationary phase.•HILIC and RP retention is described by linear retention modelling.•Turning points between HILIC and RP mode are established for each compound.•QSRR is used to predict extrapolated retention parameters and turning points.
