摘要

•We evaluated the mutagenicity of AZT by single-dose RBC Pig-a and PIGRET assays.•No increase in mutant frequency was observed in either assay.•AZT is known to induce large deletions on the genome DNA.•The Pig-a assays may be less sensitive to compounds such as AZT.
