A Favorability Score for Vaginal Hysterectomy in a Statewide Collaborative.

In a population of women undergoing hysterectomy in the state of Michigan, the use of vaginal and abdominal hysterectomy varied with respect to parity, prior pelvic surgery, and uterine weight, but there was little variation in the use of laparoscopic and robotic approaches. The favorability score could potentially be used as a quality improvement tool to evaluate practice patterns with respect to the use of various surgical approaches to hysterectomy.
