Transcriptome analysis of Pseudomonas mediterranea and P. corrugata plant pathogens during accumulation of medium-chain-length PHAs by glycerol bioconversion.

•Alginate genes are over-expressed in Pseudomonas mediterranea during PHA production.•EPS production on glycerol as carbon source is many fold higher in P. mediterranea.•Co-production of mcl-PHA and alginate will make fermentation process cost-effective.
