TRPV4 channels stimulate Ca2+-induced Ca2+ release in mouse neurons and trigger endoplasmic reticulum stress after intracerebral hemorrhage

•Inhibition of TRPV4 channels promoted the neuronal survival after ICH.•TRPV4 channels triggered Ca2+-induced Ca2+ release from endoplasmic reticulum.•Blocking TRPV4 receptors inhibited PERK−CHOP-Bcl-2 signaling pathway.•ICH recruited inositol triphosphate receptors into the TRPV4 protein complex.
