Effect of toe dorsiflexion on the regional distribution of plantar fascia shear wave velocity.

•Shear wave velocity of the plantar fascia was estimated by ultrasound elastography.•Shear wave velocity can be considered as an index of tensile stress.•Shear wave velocity was greater in the insertional region than the distal region.•Toe dorsiflexion did not affect shear wave velocity in the insertional region.•Toe dorsiflexion induced an increase in shear wave velocity in the distal region.
