•Comprehensive multiresidue analysis of pesticides in grapevine leaf matrix.•The scope of the method also covers plant growth regulators.•A high throughput QuEChERS-based workflow is optimized for sample preparation.•The GC–MS/MS and LC–MS/MS method performance are demonstrated at ≥0.01 mg/kg.•The method performance complied with the SANTE/11813/2017 guidelines and EU-MRLs.
