Factors associated with fear of progression in chinese cancer patients: sociodemographic, clinical and psychological variables.

•Fear of progression is a widespread concern among cancer patients.•Psychological variables seem to be strongly associated with cancer patient's fear of progression than sociodemographic or clinical factors.•Childhood severe illness experience, stress, anxiety, depressive symptom and personality were independently predictive of higher fear of progression.
