摘要
•Women with bipolar disorder who are treated with psychotropic drugs in pregnancy differ substantially from women are not medicated and women who have neither medication exposure nor bipolar disorder, which makes assessment of reproductive outcomes subject to confounding by indication.•In this study, about 10% of infants were delivered preterm across exposure groups, and no significant differences in outcome occurred for APGAR scores < 8, NICU admissions, sex or infant length, or for head circumferences after adjustment for demographic and clinical confounding variables.•The overall pregnancy outcomes for women with BD were similar to the comparison group after adjustment for sociodemographic and clinical characteristics.
