Epileptic auditory illusions as reliable findings in the determination of the lateralization and localization of epileptogenic zone.

•EAAs are found to be 6% in the population with generalized epilepsy.•The most commonly identified EAAs are elementary auditory hallucination (60.32%).•The epileptogenic zone is in the temporal lobe of the dominance hemisphere in all patients with auditory illusion.
