摘要

Two flanking benzene rings on trichalcogenasumanenes (1a/1b) were opened upon oxidation, and the successive ring reconstruction afforded donor-acceptor type polycycles containing diimide units (3a/3b). 3a and 3b show excellent optical-limiting properties superior to C-60.
