The article explores sudden unintentional infant death (SUID), the leading classification of death in the postneonatal period in the U.S. Particular focus is given to how this relates to media reporting of unintentional child deaths in Chicago, Illinois, between 2011 and 2015. Additional topics discussed include recommended sleep practices for infants and the importance of sleep habits and hygiene for infants.
