Phytocosmeceutical formulation development, characterization and its in-vivo investigations.

The w/o emulsion loaded with 2% Prosopis cineraria extract rich in polyphenol, flavonoids and antioxidants was prepared. The polyphenols and flavonoids inhibit tyrosinase and PPAR- γ, which is a key enzyme in melanin synthesis and sebum production, respectively. Whereas, the anti-oxidants suppress the ROS production, proportional to the skin erythema. While, polyphenols and flavonoids have high affinity for skin collagen and elastin fibers that results in increased skin elasticity and moisturization.
