Expression- and genomic-level changes during passage of four baculoviruses derived from bacmids in permissive insect cell lines.

•AcMNPV Bacmid and HearSNPV Bacmid were stable during passage in Sf21 and HzAM1, respectively.•AcMNPV Bacmid was not stable during passage in Tn5 and Sf9.•SeMNPV Bacmid and BmNPV Bacmid were not stable during passage in Se1 and BmN cells, respectively.•AcMNPV and HearSNPV Bacmid were better for stable protein expression in Sf21 and HzAM1, respectively.
