To admit or not to admit? Experience with outpatient thyroidectomy for Graves' disease in a high-volume tertiary care center.

•We reviewed outcomes of 41 Graves' patients undergoing outpatient thyroidectomy.•Complication rates were compatible with published values.•Two patients were admitted for nonmedical reasons.•Three patients (7%) were re-admitted, for hematoma (2) or wound infection (1).•Graves' patients can be safely and efficiently managed with outpatient thyroid surgery.
