Calcified cerebral emboli (CCE) are a rare cause of cerebral infarction, which can originate from a calcified lesion of the aortic valve, aortic arch, mitral valve annulus, or carotid arteries. 1,2 Although several case reports of CCE have described calcified plaques of the aortic arch or carotid arteries as having an embolic source, 2 the causal relationship has not been established consistently. 3 Here we present a case of CCE that demonstrates real-time calcified emboli migration via the common carotid artery (CCA).
