Delayed intraventricular pneumocephalus following shunting for normal pressure hydrocephalus.

•A case of delayed pneumocephalus after VP shunting for NPH is reported.•Pneumocephalus after VP shunting is associated with bone erosion owing to long-standing raised intracranial pressure.•This case is unique, as the patient had NPH, and initial postoperative CT after 2 months was normal.•Treatment of postshunting pneumocephalus is the same as treatment of other causes of pneumocephalus.
