Aortic vascular calcification is inversely associated with the trabecular bone score in patients receiving dialysis.

•Vascular calcification of the abdominal aorta is common in relatively young dialysis patients•In these dialysis patients, bone mineral density is not correlated to vascular calcification•However, the trabecular bone score is inversely correlated to vascular calcification•These relationships provide insight into bone and vascular interactions in chronic kidney disease
