Validation of the evaluation capacity in organizations questionnaire.

•We examined the construct validity of an organization evaluation capacity in non-profit and government sectors in Canada.•Results of an exploratory factor analysis confirmed our understanding of an organization’s capacity to do and use evaluation.•Results of the latent path analysis suggests that an organization’s capacity to learn is enhanced by the relationships among the various factors.•Implications of using a validated model of an organization’s capacity to do and use evaluations in both research and practice are discussed.
