Simultaneous multiparametric PET/MRI for the assessment of therapeutic response to chemotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy of cervical cancer patients: Preliminary results.

•Integrated PET/MRI acquires morphologic, metabolic (e.g. 18F-FDG PET) and functional (e.g. DWI) parameters in one examination.•Within one PET/MRI examination different facets of the underlying tumor biology are reflected.•Quantitative multiparametric PET/MRI bears the potential of a more comprehensive evaluation of the primary cervical tumor.•PET/MRI may function as a useful diagnostic tool for monitoring initial treatment strategies in cervical cancer patients.
