CGplus, a standardized herbal composition ameliorates non-alcoholic steatohepatitis in a tunicamycin-induced mouse model

•Non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a main medical issue in developed countries.•No pharmacological therapeutics exists for NASH, and this study investigated a potential of CGplus as an anti-NASH drug.•CGplus ameliorates NASH via modulating liver injury and hepatic lipid accumulation as evidenced by serum level in AST, ALT activity and hepatic level in TG including oil red O staining analysis.•Its corresponding mechanisms involve the modulations on lipid metabolism and hepatic inflammatory cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β and IL-6.
