Googling your hand hygiene data: Using Google Forms, Google Sheets, and R to collect and automate analysis of hand hygiene compliance monitoring.

•We created an easy-to-use, platform-independent hand hygiene data collection process using Google Forms and Google Spreadsheets.•Using R and RStudio Shiny, we built an online analytics engine to provide on-demand, automated reporting directly from the Google Spreadsheet.•By reducing the workload of data collection and analysis, more time may be spent on improving hand hygiene adherence.
