•Human intravenous immunoglobulin reduced acute rejection after kidney transplantation over a 12-month follow-up.•Human intravenous immunoglobulin did not increase the frequency of adverse events.•Human intravenous immunoglobulin may reduce kidney graft rejection episodes and is well-tolerated.
