Health workers' attitudes, perceptions and knowledge of influenza immunization in Lima, Peru: A mixed methods study.

•Coverage of influenza vaccination in Peruvian health workers is >70%.•Physicians reported the lowest coverage rate compared to other occupational groups.•Drivers of vaccination include desire for protection and peer encouragement.•Barriers include misunderstanding of the epidemiology of influenza and the vaccine.•Barriers could be overcome by targeted education and information.
