摘要
Aim: Coronary artery calcification (CAC) precedes the onset of cardiovascular disease (CVD). Recent meta-analysis identified 183 single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) to be associated with blood-lipid. It is unknown whether these SNPs facilitate the effects of lipid-lowering medication like statins. Since the use of statins shows notable inter-individual variation in the cholesterolemic response, our study aims to investigate whether blood-lipid SNPs modulate the 5-year progression of CAC following statin treatment.
