Virtual Cerebral Aneurysm Clipping with Real-Time Haptic Force Feedback in Neurosurgical Education

•A patient-specific virtual aneurysm-clipping simulator with haptic force feedback and real-time deformation of the vessel has been developed.•Evaluation of the procedure by blood flow simulation is integrated in this software.•Close cooperation between software engineers and experienced neurosurgeons is necessary to aincorporate software improvements, leading to realistic virtual simulations.•The ultimate goal of this project is to integrate our simulator into a resident training program for vascular neurosurgery.
