摘要
Patients with femoral nerve palsy develop a serious gait disturbance, because the nerve innervates the iliopsoas and quadriceps muscles. Although quadriceps palsy due to the proximal lesion of the femoral nerve is uncommon, it can cause a patient great difficulty. Most injuries to the femoral nerve are iatrogenic in origin and occur during resection of large retroperitoneal tumors [1]. For nerve repair associated with an extensive gap, there are two choices. The traditional procedure is nerve grafting between two ends of the injured nerve. [1] [2], On the other hand, nerve transfer has been attracting a lot of attention as an alternative procedure. While many nerve transfers for the upper extremity have been reported, only a few cases for the lower extremity have been reported. The case of a patient with a severed femoral nerve caused by a previous operation that was repaired with partial obturator nerve transfer to the femoral nerve is reported.
