The Relationship between Hot Flashes and Testosterone Recovery after 12 Months of Androgen Suppression for Men with Localised Prostate Cancer in the ASCENDE-RT Trial.

•Ninety-three per cent of men treated with 12 months of androgen deprivation therapy report hot flashes.•Hot flashes began and reached peak frequency when testosterone levels were castrate.•Hot flashes resolved a median of 8 months after the cessation of treatment.•Cessation of hot flashes often preceded testosterone recovery.•The median time to testosterone recovery was 9–18 months.
