摘要

•New mouse model of vascular calcification independent of genetic background is proposed.•A single injection of AAV encoding mutant PCSK9 into C57BL/6J mice induces vascular calcification.•This model could expedite vascular calcification research and therapeutic development by avoiding laborius and costly mouse colony generation.
