摘要

•aPDT using Rose Bengal (RB) has a bactericidal effect against planktonic S. aureus.•In biofilm, bactericidal effect is achieved when gentamicin was used in combination.•The combination of gentamicin and RB-aPDT appears to exert a synergistic effect.•RB-aPDT, alone or in combination with gentamicin, could be implemented against S. aureus.
