Morphological characteristics of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) dechlorination during pyrolysis process: Influence of PVC content and heating rate.

•Morphology parameters describing dechlorination behaviors of PVC pyrolysis were obtained.•Morphology parameters are applicable to the pyrolysis of mixed plastics containing PVC.•HCl emission is independent of PVC proportion in the mixed plastics.•Higher heating rate widens HCl emission temperature range and makes its separation more difficult.
